Is this winter ever going to end??? The ice build up outside my
garage is truly depressing and the amount of snow in the yard is
massive. I don't really care about the snow in the yard as long as it
does not continue to feed the ice in the driveway.
In 12
days I'm supposed to depart for a ride - the Curt Gran Memorial Saddle
Sore - with end destination in Casey, IL. It is part of the annual
Moonshine Lunch Run. I officially registered today.... yeah I know...
I'm crazy. But I sort of needed a swift kick in the rear to put myself
in the mode to re-assemble Blackie.
Right now she is
kind of "torn apart". I'm about to install a new GPS and it is giving me
the jeebeez because I'm not very keen on installing new electrics. One
would think it is easy peasy but that's not the case unless you really
know what you are doing. I also replaced the air filter (not that hard)
and now I'm struggling to put the casing back together.. Why are things
so easy to take apart but so much harder to put back together???
I
did do an oil change, which I have done before, and that all went well.
I also cleaned all the nooks and crannies and the oiled the chain and
refilled the coolant and checked all the wires and such.
So,
tonight is is pouring outside and tomorrow it is supposed to turn in to
sleet and freezing rain. I'm reminding myself that a lot can happen in
10-12 days. Sunshine, warmth, no more freezing temps - and voila' - the
driveway will be free of ice and the roads will be clear and ready.
I'm
truly itching to ride and I know Blackie can't wait to run again... so
right now I'm going to do a prayer to the motorcycling Gods and wish for
warmer weather, guidance in re-assembly of Blackie and a safe ride when
I get to go.
Game on - game on!
Rubber down and ride safe.
