Experimental Rallies

My friend Hammy is the organizer of some fun rides. He calls them Hammy's Experimental Rallies. Over Labor Day weekend he had the Minotaur Tour, a 72 hour photo based tour. There were five categories: Amusement Parks, Vineyards and Wineries, BBQ Joints, Hot Dog Joints and Roadside Curios. The good part was that you could take part in this tour anywhere you live. All you needed was a rally flag, a motorcycle and a camera.

The purpose of the rally was to get out and ride and find fun bonuses to take photos of. Well, several of the categories posed a bit of a challenge for me. Actually, four out of five categories! I managed to find a few BBQ joints, vineyards and wineries and an amusement park in Vermont. The road side curious were easier. It could essentially be anything that you found to be a road side curio so I went to town. A few hours out and about scored me some good points but it was not enough.

So the next day I decided to make it a full day of riding and I headed to the state next door, New York. I had Lake George in mind. Lots of curios, some adventure parks and maybe even a hot dog joint. I logged over 300 miles and found everything I was looking for.

When it was all said and done I had scored the most points in the Minotaur Tour and I won! I had so much fun riding around looking for these bonuses and on top of it all Hammy sent me a cool water bottle for winning.
