Bunny Hat Brigade

I met some great people at the New England Minute Man/Saddle Sore 1K. One of them, Kate, invited me to join the Bunny Hat Brigade. So I did. The BHB is not a big group but it sure contains some big personalities. There is our bunny mama Kate, her other third Ant (I named him the fuzz bunny), Hammy the stunt bunny and me, the evil chocolate bunny.

We had our first annual RTE (Ride To Eat) get together in the end of July and met up in southwestern Connecticut. After a great breakfast and lots of laughs we headed out for a ride. Ant took us on some nice roads with great scenery and good curves. All was going well, until... Well, dear Hammy decided to try a stunt and bounce off a tree. It looked worse than it was and luckily he only broke part of his left hand! Children, don't try this at home!!! But it was a bit unnerving to be the one behind him and see his attempt to pull a bunny stunt.

The rest of the day was spent in the ER at the Milford Hospital and after x-rays and a temporary sling of some sort I stuck Hammy on a train back home, parked his beloved Ella in the storage building and had a crazy ride home to Vermont. But that's for another story...

I won't post a photo of Hammy's hand but I can report that he is finally better and he is back in the saddle. And hopefully the BHB will ride again together soon.
